Lima, the capital of Peru, is also known as the City of Kings. Since its founding was the center of culture and elegance in Spanish America. Archaeological Complex of Pachacamac
It was the most important ceremonial center of the Peruvian coast since pre-Inca times. The main material used in this building was the mud.

Cathedral
Occupies the same place where the first cathedral of Lima was built. The interior is austere, but it houses precious pieces like the Baltasar Noguera choir stalls , various altars and the remains from Francisco Pizarro. In addition, you can visit the Museum of Religious Art, which has an important collection of paintings, sculptures, goblets and chasubles.
Italian Art Museum
One of the most beautiful museums in Lima and one of the most well known. It was donated by the government of Italy for the hundred years of independence. The building in neo-Renaissance style, veneer stone and marble with applications on its facade. Further emphasizes the two Venetian mosaics on the sides, a reference to the discovery of America and the other to the Republic.
San Martin Square
Opened in 1921 by the celebration of the hundred years of the Independence of Peru. The bronze monument honoring generalissimo José de San Martín, was designed by the Catalan sculptor Mariano Benlluire.
At the top, represents the liberator climbing the Andes, on his horse. The figure rests on a granite pedestal in the form of a truncated pyramid, with a stepped base.
San Francisco Church and Monastery
Architectural ensemble belonging to the seventeenth century. Includes the church, the convent and the square. The main facade of the temple was carved in stone and is known for its Corinthian columns. The facade features a cornice with open arms, that holds the Immaculate Conception. The area of the cloisters are decorated with tiles and hosts the Colonial Art Museum. You can also visit the catacombs (underground) which served as a cemetery during colonial times.
Pala Cala Waterfalls
It is a small but impressive waterfall in the mountains of Lima. To access to them, the village of San Jeronimo de Surco, at Kilometer 67, Carretera Central must be reached.
From there, a mule-track, two hours walk to the edge of the river formed by the stream of Matala, towards the hamlet of Huaquicha, an ideal place to camp, and at the end the Falls of Pala Cala.
